We are building a practical, community-driven housing-support model that helps people move from homelessness, displacement and instability into safe, functional homes.

Our origin
A response became a model.
A Home For The Knight began after the June 22, 2026 Knights Inn fire displaced 73 neighbors across 37 households. Founder Talia Moore stepped forward to help people affected by the disaster.
That work revealed a larger gap: finding an apartment does not mean someone has the money, transportation, furniture or coordinated support to move in. The organization now carries that lesson forward for people throughout Broome County who are unhoused, displaced or transitioning from temporary shelter.
What makes the model different

The question is not only, “Can we find someone an apartment?” It is, “What does this person need to move in and begin living there successfully?”
